New embroidery business

Tue Sep 8, 2009, 10:03 AM
  • Mood: Optimism
So, as of yesterday I am officially a self employed embroiderer - my newly registered business is 'Elizabeth Lansberry Textiles'! This is an exciting new development for me after 3 years of training, and I hope that it will be off the ground in a few months.
For those of you who may be interested my services include:

Embroidery commissions: Estimate on application
Bespoke embroidery kits: £15-100
Embroidery & needlework tuition: Prices from £55 per person depending on level and length of class
Conservation and Restoration of textiles: Estimates on application
Mounting embroidery for framing: £100-500

Over the next few days I will be uploading a backlog of my recent work as I was too busy before. At the moment I'm mostly working on business setup stuff but also designing a whole bunch of new kits to teach at events over the coming year and looking into restoration/conservation jobs.

I just accepted a Class Assistant job at the Royal School of Needlework, from which I graduated in August, so that's pretty good too as I have some stable income!

And that was probably plenty of detail on my professional life for anyone reading this so I'll log off now.

You're very welcome. I like to give credit where credit is due - especially where traditional arts are concerned.

More people should do embroidery - it's a fantastic medium!
